Ninth Annual
Global General Gathering of Triple Nine Society (ggg999)
Los Angeles, California, USA, September 1-4, 2017

Embassy Suites LAX North

After previous meetings in Denver (2009), Berkeley (2010), Philadelphia (2011), Woodland Hills (LA) (2012), Denver (2013), Little Rock (2014), Dallas (2015) and Orlando (2016, coinciding with hurricane Matthew), we are going to meet in Los Angeles over the Labor Day weekend 2017.

Who?

The event is open to current members of TNS, former members of TNS, as well as to qualified applicants who haven’t joined yet. Members of other 99.9th -percentile-plus high-IQ societies with credible admission standards (Mega, Prometheus, Omega, Four Sigma, Epimetheus, ISPE and OATHS) are also welcome. The general idea is not to exclude, but to include and have a good time. Registration is not free, but the fee is reasonable, it’s the same for everyone, and there are discounts for early registration (TBA).

Family / Friends / Guests

Non-members are welcome, but we want to ensure that members make the majority of the adults present (or at least that there are equal numbers). To that end, every member is free to bring one non-member guest only. Your spouse, a good friend,... all is fine — but one person only. Naturally, they also have to register and pay. If you want to bring your kids, by all means do so — they need to register but don’t have to pay — and bring as many as you have.

Where?

Embassy Suites LAX North
9801 Airport Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045

When?

The meeting runs from the afternoon of Friday, September 1, through lunch on Monday, September 4, 2017. In addition, there will be an early-birds dinner on Thursday, August 30, and at least one hike. There will definitely be a hike on Friday morning, returning to the hotel in time for the ggg999 activities. If there is interest, we can also do a longer hike either on Thursday or Tuesday.

Call for Ideas and Speakers!

The agenda for the weekend is still being worked out, but it will include talks by TNS members and non-members, socializing, hiking (optional!), charades (okay, this is optional, too, but you might have a lot of fun if you join us). This is your chance to let us know what you would like to see in your ggg999. Please contact Betsy at b.walli@alum.mit.edu if you have suggestions or would like to give a talk.
